Snapshell WMD is the innovative camera ID reader Snapshell bundled with Idscan for Driver Licenses. It is a fast ID scanning system, which provides ID authentication.
SnapShell WMD (Water Mark Detection) read and decode the watermark feature to detect counterfeits, photo swapping and data alteration the most common methods of creating fake documents.
Unlike most ID readers, Snapshell WMD extracts unique data only for authentication purposes without using the cardholder's personal data. This protects citizen information and eliminates the risk of violating cardholder privacy.
The use of IDMarc ™ , automatically detects fake id’s. IDMarc ™ is actually the replacement for barcode and magnetic reading, since the information is safely encoded in the actual picture. It is not sensitive to wear and tear or fraud unlike the previous technology.
The Snapshell WMD uses a 3 mega-pixel camera built into its base
to "snap" high quality digital images of ID cards (up to 600 dpi), populating the extracted data into appropriate fields within 2-3 seconds, into an
external file, clipboard or third party software.
The extracted image and data can be exported to various applications, email, FTP and the web. When using the automatic
card placement detection, Snapshell WMD launches the ID scan job immediately upon
placing the card on the Snapshell scanner.
With an outstanding cards scanning and processing speed combined with a powerful OCR engine, Snapshell WMD
is the ideal id reader authentication system for customer service offices, government agencies, bars & clubs, various businesses, and third party kiosk applications.
