Scan2Contacts

Q: Is Scan2Contacts compatible with Microsoft Outlook 2013 64bit application?

Q: I have MS Outlook 2010 64bit installed and I do not see the icons in my Outlook.

Q: I just installed s2c and I cannot scan into my Outlook 2010 64bit version.

Q: The software has been installed and the scanner has been connected. It has also been calibrated. But after the business card was scanned the Outlook screen freezes while "Processing" appears on the screen and locks the system.

Q: Microsoft Outlook freezes after installing the Scan2contacts Software.

Q: Where is the image of each business card stored after it is scanned in Outlook?

A: : Make sure the image on the business card faces down while scanning. The latest version of Scan2contact should also be applied. Please find the latest downloadable version of our website:

A: : Make sure you have the latest version of Scan2contact software. If you don´t, uninstall your current software by removing the download program from "Add/remove program" located on c:\program files\card scanning solution. Restart your computer then download the newest version from our website:

Q: Where is the image of each business card stored after it is scanned in Outlook?
A: : On the upper left corner, click on the Green Envelope Icon located on the far left of your screen. Go to the Images Tab and under this tab you will find a white box. This is where all your files will be stored.
Q: Can I use scan2contacts in Oulook 2007? Is there a Driver Update?
A: : Yes, scan2contact is compatible with Outlook 2007, the latest version is in our website :

A: : Please disconnect any active sync such as Palm Pilot, Treo, PDA phones, and restart Outlook.
Q: Unable to find the green icons in Microsoft Outlook?
A: : Make sure there no other devices actively sync up to Outlook at the same time with the scanner. If so, disable and restart Outlook.
Q: Where did the green icons that used to be on the upper left hand corner go?
A: : To restore the green icons you must do the following: Click on HELP in the menu, then click on About Microsoft Outlook, and choose Disabled Items, if Scan2Contacts is in the white box, highlight and click enable. For Microsoft Outlook 2007, go to Help Menu and choose Disabled items.

Scan2CRM for SalesForce

Q: What do I do when the Login fails?
A: : Make sure that you reset your token in SalesForce and restart the login screen and put your password first and then the token in the end of your password.

Scanners

Q: There are lines on every scan.
A: Please re-calibrate the scanner, and make sure that the two arrows on the calibration sheet are facing up and into the scanner.
Q: After scanning the OCR fields are not populating. I have calibrated and have been able to scan the card but no text in the fields.
A: Make sure the image is facing down, re-calibrate the scanner, re-start Outlook.
Q: The scanner cannot be located under the Device Manager.
A: Plug the USB cable to a similar USB port on the computer. The scanner should be located under Imaging.
Q: My Windows cannot detect the scanner.
A: Plug-in to a different USB port.
Q: I have two different scanners, one is the Scanshell 800R and the other is the Scanshell 2000N but one of the scanners doesn´t work with IDScan because the light is red in the scanner icon.
A: Be sure that the configuration setting is under auto detect scanner.
Q: I came across this message after installing the scanner: "Class Installer Has Denied the Request to Install or Update the Driver".
A: The scanning software stopped working after a virus was detected on the computer. These conditions usually indicate that there is a virus (or more than one) on the computer. You will need to remove the virus before reinstalling our product again.
Q: Why can’t I get a good reading from some Canadian Province Driver Licenses using an OCR scanner?
A: Some of the Canadian Province Driver Licenses has graphics behind the text, therefore the OCR engine will have a challenge extracting and determining the text.

Calibration

Q: What does the calibration sheet look like?
A: Calibration comes with the scanner in the box and there are black stripes either on one side or both sides of the sheet. If not found, determine the scanner model and download a printable copy from our website:

Q: There are lines when scanning a document after recalibration.
A: Delete the calibration file under c:\document and settings\all users\application data\card scanning solutions and go to the scanner folder and delete everything in there, then re-calibrate the scanner.

Duplex scanning

Q: I cannot do a duplex scan on the scanshell800DX scanner with IDScan and/or Medicscan.
A: Please close IDScan and/or restart the application and make sure the duplex is configured under in the configuration setting.

SnapShell

Q: My computer doesn´t detect the snapshell camera.
A: Re-install IDScan and be sure to include the snapshell camera driver during the installation. After the installation, plug in the snapshell camera.
Q: How to install Snapshell Camera?
A: Use the CD that came with it and include the snapshell pre-install driver during the installation.
