MedicScan PRO OCR has an extensive OCR capabilities. It extracts the textual information from the medical insurance card from both sides of an insurance card (scanning each side separately), and provides you with the card's image as well as extracted data into a database, ready to be exported into any other application, email, FTP and the web.

The insurance card reader scans the cards into a relational database. The cards are saved in records; each record stores the insurance card image and data, and additional user-defined information such as the scanning time, categories and more. The patients data stored in MedicScan PRO OCR can be easily sorted, arranged, stored, retrieved and printed according to various built-in and user-defined criteria and categories.

MedicScan PRO OCR offers a powerful printing module that allows a user to customize what format and layout that the printed item should have, including labels, envelopes and more.

The ScanShell 800 /800R insurance card reader is capable of scanning any photo media due to its powerful scanning engine and scan time is only a few seconds.

Live update
MedicScan PRO OCR has a Live Update feature that enables the user to update his software with the most recent version by using the Internet. Live Update checks for updates whenever the user is connected to the Internet, and updates the program automatically with the most recent version of your program available.
